Easy Homemade Soft Pretzels that Taste Delicious
Gluten Free - Dairy Free
1 3/4 Cup Gluten Free Self Raising Flour (plus exra for dusting)
1 Cup Dairy Free Greek Yoghurt
Sprinkle of Salt
1 Lightly Beaten Egg (Or 1Tbs Dairy Free Milk/Butter)
2 tbs Bi Carb Soda
1 Tbs of Italian Herb Seasoning
1 Tsp Chopped Fresh Rosemary Sprigs
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celcius and line a baking tray with a baking mat/parchment paper
Fill a large pot of water, and leave to the boil.
Meawhile, in a large bowl, combine the yoghurt, flour, salt and herbs (Optional) and mix until fully combined. Then form the dough into a ball.
Lightly flour a kitchen surface and transfer the ball of dough onto the floured surface. You may need to lighltly knead the dough with extra flour if it's too sticky.
Press the ball of dough and divide into 4-8 pieces (4 peices if you want larger pretzels). Roll each piece of dough into a long, thin, saussage shape. Fold the corners over to form a pretzel.
Once the pot of water has reached the boil, add 2 tbs of Bi Carb Soda and submerge each preztel for 5-7 seconds (this will make the pretzels fluffy)
Place each pretzel on a linned baking tray and brush with the egg wash (or melted butter/milk) and sprinkle each with salt.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden.
